Captain Kirk Waltz fishing report 3/25/25

Captain Kirk Waltz 9046261128 www.enterprisefishingcharters.com The weather is beginning to improve and looking more spring like. The bite is still kind of  bouncing back and forth which at times makes you have to dig into your bag of tricks. Smaller bait for the trout helps saving the larger shrimp for reds and drum. The blue crabs have been more available this week but the big drum have tapered off some after the last moon. The sheepshead are beginning to show some promise and with the waning of the current moon phase they should fire off any day. Fiddlers and small shrimp fished on a small 1/4oz jig should provide some good catches. The nearshore limestone ledges and reefs have been holding some grass head porgies, sheepshead , snapper and a few seabass when the ocean permits Look for this weather to settle for a-few days and the fishing should continue to improve. Try hitting the rocks, docks, and drops in the Mayport Basin for success.

Captain John Eggers 3/25/25 fishing report

Captain John Eggers  Rock-N-Reel Charters 9045911611     www.rocknreelcharters.net   The sheepshead fishing has been solid last week but larger ones are hard to come by. They as usual are eating fiddler crabs. We have been catching some really nice reds in the river on shrimp and mud minnows. Fish have been hanging around oyster bars and rocks on the edge of the shallows for us. Bonus fish of the week was a nice black drum caught on a fiddler crab.

Captain Chip Wingo 3/25/25 fishing report

Captain Chip Wingo 9046144989    Redfish continue to school up on the banks of the intercoastal waterway on lower tides. These fish can be targeted with artificial baits such as curly tails rigged with jig heads. Live bait including shrimp and mud minnows as well. Black drum are showing really good from Saint Augustine to Nassau sound. Cracked blue crab and clams fished in deeper channels as well as roll downs of channel edges.

Captain Tommy Derringer fishing report 3/24/25

Captain Tommy Derringer   www.inshorefishingadventures.com 9043773734 Saint Augustine insure report… Although it was very cold a couple mornings last week the fishing was pretty good in the south end of St. Augustine. I was up shallow chasing schools of redfish. The water cleared up in some areas and got murkier in others. Staying closer to the inlets seems to have the best visibility. We were having the best luck, tossing a new soft plastic lure from Gulp, called the nemesis prawn. It’s got a great curly tail and gives off a ton of action, but you can also just let it sit or barely move it and the scent gets them to eat it as well. I would highly recommend trying it out! This week, as it goes on, looks like we’re gonna have a warming trend. With the high tide early in the morning it’s definitely time to bust out the top water plugs. I’ve got mine all dusted off with new hooks ready to go. Trout and redfish should be willing to chase down some too-waters as the water warms ov...

Captain Jeremy Alvarez fishing report 3/24/25

Captain Jeremy Alvarez   9046268403 WWW.JACKSONVILLEFISHINGCHARTERS.COM   March is always a crazy weather month for Northeast Florida, temps going from cold to hot and back again.  Winds can be slick calm one day blowing a gale the next.  We have seen all of the above as of lately.  Fishing has been about the same.  Sheepshead are around although the big numbers are not making it to the fillet table. Still hoping they will fire off any day.  Trout are getting better by the day with some nice specks around, a live shrimp is hard to beat but they will eat a variety of artificial as well.  Seen a few random Spanish around the inlet but still a little early for them.  Pogie's have been around although can be tricky to catch on a cold windy morning.  Mid-morning with calm conditions and warmer temps usually help with that.  They are still on the small side not really adequate to troll but great for bottom ...

Captain Buzz Brannon 3/17/25

Captain Buzz Brannon 9045707878 www.northeastfloridaangling.com    This last week the redfish bite has been really good. My clients have been catching lots nice slot size and over slot size redfish in the Sisters creek area. The bite has been best on the first of the falling tide as the water starts to pull all the shrimp and mullet out of the grass. Most bites are coming on live shrimp on a 1/4 oz jig in white or chartreuse, pitched right up on the grass or tight to the oyster beds. This week we have great early morning out going tides in our area so the redfish bite should be good.

Captain Kirk Waltz 3/17/27 Fishing Report

Captain Kirk Waltz  Mayport/Jax Report www.enterprisefishingcharters.com 9046261128 The weather continues to throw some curve ball’s but despite the fast moving fronts and wind they have produced, the “windows “ we are getting have produced some great results. Patience is the key again as fluctuating water temperatures have made the bite slow. Smaller bait for the trout helps saving the larger shrimp for reds and drum. The blue crabs have been buried up and are tough to come by but, the larger shrimp peeled and headed have worked well for the black drum and oversized red's. Try to slow retrieving speed and don’t expect big hits. The sheepshead are beginning to show some promise and with the waning of the current moon phase they should fire off any day. Fiddlers and small shrimp fished on a 1/4 jig should provide some good catches. The nearshore limestone ledges and reefs have been holding some grass head porgies, sheepshead and a few seabass when the ocean permits .Look for t...

Captain Tommy Derringer Fishing report 3/17/25

Captain Tommy Derringer www.inshoreadventures.com 9043773734  What an awesome streak of weather we had last week!… Coming off of that big full moon we had some great fishing to go along with it. Redfish were schooled up in the south end of Saint Augustine and the water was still fairly clear. This week we’re starting off with some different conditions. We still have some big tides this week, but the water has turned brown and murky after all the rain we had over the weekend. Temperatures are going to be down a little over the next couple of nights, so that may clear the water up a little bit in some areas and still allow for some sight-fishing later in the week. As the week goes on and that low tide pushes to mid to late morning, we have what I would consider my favorite tide for this time of year. It’s definitely time to bust out the plugs for trout and redfish first thing in the morning on that high outgoing tide. One of my favorite top-water plugs is the Berkley J-walker 120. It...

Atlantic Coast Marines John Clark Justin Crews report 3/16/25

Was a grind of a day but our very own John Clark and Justin Crews fishing in the 320 Cobia CC finished their second day of NE Florida Wahoo shootout with a 26.84 and a 26.26 Wahoo. With the 63 plus pound wahoo they weighed on their first declared day of fishing it was a respectable result. Timing, conditions, skill, know how and luck play a hand in all of these tournaments. Congrats to your team on efforts and results.

Captain Chip Wingo Fishing report 3/14/25

Captain Chip Wingo Wing Nut Charters 9046144989 Welcome to March. March is  considered a transition month in North Florida. As water temperatures start increasing closer to 70 degrees. Lots of predators will be chewing, Been doing well with redfish on the bottom of the low tides on shallow flats and creek mouths. Soft plastic flukes and curly tails (Fish bites fight club baits) white 1/8 ounce white jig  heads worked slow will do the trick. Look for bigger speckled trout to start showing up in the grass lines in the intercoastal during the last part of incoming tide. Work soft plastic paddle tails and suspending hard baits like the mirrodine in chartreuse.

Atlantic Coast Marine's John Clark and Justin Crews Wahoooo shootout fishing report 3/12/25

www.atlanticcoastmarine.com 9042210793 Atlantic Coast Marines very own John Clark with Justin Crews running a 320CC Cobia  had a great first day in the North East Florida Wahoo tournament. Word around the campfire is they put a couple hundred miles on the water leaving Palm cove marina pre dawn hours returning after dark. The crew was trolling and boated a couple Wahoo and a really nice  bonus tuna for the table. The two are heading out again Friday. Couple more Wahoo like this 63 pounder is the goal. We will keep you posted on results!

Captain Brett Cannon /Dave Gourley Fishing report 3/12/25

www,atlanticcoastmarine.com   9042210793 With water and outside temps on the rise redfish are active. The problem has been the wind and weather this past week. We found a few windows of opportunity in between poor conditions with the dropping or incoming tide to cast a fly. Key is to find some water sheltered from the wind at a good tide. Clear water and clear skies we were casting lighter colored shrimp patterns and in the off colored water and darker sky we have been throwing purple and black flies. Name of the game with a fly is stealth and shallow.

Captain Jeremy Alvarez fishing report 3/11/25

https://jacksonvillefishingcharters.com/ 9046268402 Fishing Report for week of 3/11/25 Inshore waters have still been chilly, hanging in the upper 50's to 60 degrees depending on the time of day and your location.  Waiting for the sheepshead to fire up again. The bite has been pretty tough along the jetties.  Although it should be "ON" as the water temps bump up a bit with your best chances to catch a double digit fish in the next month or so.  The big drum are starting to show up, half or quarter blue crab being the best bait, fishing on the edge of the channel.  Thank goodness for the yellow mouth trout as they have been biting throughout this winter when the temps dropped into the low 50's.  They will take a variety of baits, live and artificial as well as pieces of shrimp and cut strips.  If the Ocean is nice there have been nice Black Sea Bass in the 10-20 mile range.  When you find them they are aggressiv...

Captain Tommy Derringer Fishing report 3/10/25

Captain Tommy Derringer 9043773734   www.inshoreadventures.net This past week was a bit tough to get on the water as the weather was iffy at best on most days. Last Friday was pretty epic though… lots of sunshine, not much wind, and lots of schooled up redfish. The water had cleared back up after some cool nights and sight fishing was the name of the game for me in the south end of Saint Augustine. We had quite a bit of rain over the last two days which should dirty the water up a little bit again, but with the West wind happening hopefully it’ll all be blown out quickly and leave us again with some nice clean water.  We’ve got some great afternoon low tides coming up this week so not a bad week to sleep in a little and wait for the sun to come up. Weather looks good with at least partly sunny conditions most days. Air temperatures are warming up as well which typically means the trout bite should start to turn on. I’ve been seeing those big laid up trout on the flats an...

Captain Buzz Brannon fishing report 3/10/25

Captain Buzz Brannon www.northeastfloridaangling.com 9045707878   I have been finding good numbers of 18-20 inch speckled trout in the Cabbage Creek and Pablo Creek systems. ( areas)  I have been targeting the last of the incoming and the first of the falling tide.  The more tidal flow the better.   I have most of my clients using a 1/4 oz Jig with a live mud minnow fished slowly on the bottom in the deeper creek bends (holes) 8-10’ deep. Pitching the baits just out side of visible eddys and jigging it slowly off the bottom has been the most effective presentation. This week we have good tides in the middle of the day so I expect the spring trout bite to only get better.

Captain Kirk Waltz 3/10/25 Fishing Report

Mayport/Jax Report The weather continues to throw some curve ball’s but despite the extreme challenges we are still catching good numbers of trout, reds, and black drum. Patience is the key. Smaller bait for the trout helps saving the larger shrimp for reds and drum. Try to slow retrieving speed and don’t expect big hits. The drum have been biting on chunks of fresh blue crab or large shrimp de headed with the tails popped off . Look for this weather forecast for the week to really jumpstart the fishing. Hit the rocks, docks, and drops in the Mayport Basin for success. 9046261128   www.enterprisefishingcharters.com

Captain Kirk Waltz 3/5/2025 Fishing report

www.enterprisefishingcharters.com 9046261128 Good catches of trout both grey and spotted have been the go to species my last few trips with a few nice reds thrown in for good measure. The cold fronts that continue to hit us every few days have the water temps continuing to fluctuate. This bounce makes these fish a little lethargic so try to slow everything down a bit, The big stones are giving up some nice catches of reds, trout, and sheepshead on fids, shrimp, and cut crab. Looking forward the drum should show soon.. return to Atlantic Coast marine www.atlanticcoastmarine.com

Captain Tommy Derringer 2/28/2025

Captain Tommy Derringer   www.InshoreAdventures.net 904 377 3734 St Augustine Report This is a great week to start this new fishing report… we have the coveted morning low tide this week and as we get towards the weekend it’s set up to be my favorite tide for this time of year which is a late morning/midday low tide. If you were in the sight-fishing, this is the tide you want. The redfish are still schooled up both on the flats and in the creeks. We’ve been catching most of our fish on my go-to Saltwater Assassin paddle tail in the new pilchard color. The reds have also been eating mud minnows, especially in the deeper creek holes and along the ICW on the last couple hours of the outgoing tide.  I’ve started to see some big trout laid up in the shallows. I think in another couple of weeks, those fish will start to get more active and should start chasing Topwater plugs during the low light hours. Something I look forward to every year.  The black drum bite has been ...

Captain Buzz Brannon Report 2/28/2025

www.northeastfloridaangling.com   9045707878 The shallow water redfish bite has been on fire! I have been fishing the Dutton Island and Oak Harbor areas. Timing the last few hours of the falling and first hour of the incoming tide seems to be the ticket. I have been targeting small creek mouths and drains around oyster bars with moving water. Most of the redfish are taking a live shrimp on a 1/4 oz chartreuse jig head tied to a 15” long piece of 15lb fluorocarbon leader. If live bait isn’t your thing a 3-4” swim bait on the a jig will get the job done as well. This week we have great morning tides for the backcountry and this pattern should continue to be good fishing!  Captain Buzz Brannon www.northeastfloridaangling.com 904-570-7878 Return to Atlantic Coast Marine Sales Parts Service www.atlanticcoastmarine.com
