The shallow water redfish bite has been on fire! I have been fishing the Dutton Island and Oak Harbor areas. Timing the last few hours of the falling and first hour of the incoming tide seems to be the ticket. I have been targeting small creek mouths and drains around oyster bars with moving water. Most of the redfish are taking a live shrimp on a 1/4 oz chartreuse jig head tied to a 15” long piece of 15lb fluorocarbon leader. If live bait isn’t your thing a 3-4” swim bait on the a jig will get the job done as well. This week we have great morning tides for the backcountry and this pattern should continue to be good fishing!
