This past week was a bit tough to get on the water as the weather was iffy at best on most days. Last Friday was pretty epic though… lots of sunshine, not much wind, and lots of schooled up redfish. The water had cleared back up after some cool nights and sight fishing was the name of the game for me in the south end of Saint Augustine. We had quite a bit of rain over the last two days which should dirty the water up a little bit again, but with the West wind happening hopefully it’ll all be blown out quickly and leave us again with some nice clean water.  We’ve got some great afternoon low tides coming up this week so not a bad week to sleep in a little and wait for the sun to come up. Weather looks good with at least partly sunny conditions most days. Air temperatures are warming up as well which typically means the trout bite should start to turn on. I’ve been seeing those big laid up trout on the flats and they haven’t been moving around much but once it warms up a little, it should be game on. I’m gonna dust off the top water lures and be ready when it happens here in the next couple of weeks.

Captain Buzz Brannon Fishing Report 4/25/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon 9045707878 www.northestfloridafishingcharters.com Fishing has been really good this past week. We landed many redfish oversized, undersized and just the right size. Some of the best action and fun we had was on top water. Nothing like seeing a top water lure getting crushed by a 28 inch redfish in shallow water next to the grass. The last third of the out going tide as well as the first half of incoming tide all up and down the intercoastal was productive this past week. We also landed some flounder and trout most days we were on the water. Give us a call !

Captain Kirk Waltz 3/10/25 Fishing Report

Mayport/Jax Report The weather continues to throw some curve ball’s but despite the extreme challenges we are still catching good numbers of trout, reds, and black drum. Patience is the key. Smaller bait for the trout helps saving the larger shrimp for reds and drum. Try to slow retrieving speed and don’t expect big hits. The drum have been biting on chunks of fresh blue crab or large shrimp de headed with the tails popped off . Look for this weather forecast for the week to really jumpstart the fishing. Hit the rocks, docks, and drops in the Mayport Basin for success. 9046261128   www.enterprisefishingcharters.com

Captain Tommy Derringer 4/21/2025 fishing report

Captain Tommy Derringer www.inshoreadventures.net 9043773734 Things are warming back up this week… The wind has switched back around out of the south and we’re getting a taste of the early parts of summer this week. The fishing last week and over the weekend was fantastic for me in the south end of Saint Augustine. We were chasing large schools of redfish up very shallow. I was fishing out of my Maverick skiff and that was a good thing because we got up super skinny to find some big redfish laid up. We were mostly tossing some of the new Gulp products at those skinny water redfish. The new nemesis prawn is an absolute fish slayer. As this week goes on the tide is going to be ideal to get out early and toss a top water plug. My favorites for this time of year are definitely the Berkeley J-Walker 120 and the 100. I prefer the 120 when the tide is up a little higher and if it’s a little shallow I’ll switch to the smaller 100 size. If you can find mudminnows that seems to be the live ...
