Captain Buzz Brannon Fishing Report 4/25/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon 9045707878 www.northestfloridafishingcharters.com Fishing has been really good this past week. We landed many redfish oversized, undersized and just the right size. Some of the best action and fun we had was on top water. Nothing like seeing a top water lure getting crushed by a 28 inch redfish in shallow water next to the grass. The last third of the out going tide as well as the first half of incoming tide all up and down the intercoastal was productive this past week. We also landed some flounder and trout most days we were on the water. Give us a call !

Captain Tommy Derringer Report 4/25/2025

Captain Tommy Derringer 9043773734 www.inshoreadventures.net We’ve seen more beautiful weather this past week… And the fishing has been awesome as well! Redfish have been absolutely stacking up in the creek holes from the Vilano  inlet all the way up to Palm Valley. The last of the outgoing tide has been best, but they’ve also been chewing on the first of the incoming. Mudminnows and shrimp have been working well, and if you can’t find live stuff, the Gulp shrimp is working wonders too. Trout bite has been great with top Waters early in the morning and that right before dark. Just look for the concentration of bait and toss your plug around there. I’ve seen a few really big trout around this week as well. A friend in Jacksonville has caught five fish over 25 inches this past weekend. The flounder have started showing up in better numbers as well. Seems like every week there’s more around. There’s even a few tarpon starting to show up along the beaches, at the bridges, and on...

Captain Kirk Waltz fishing report 4/21/2025

Captain Kirk Waltz 9046261128 www.enterprisefishingcharters.com   Mayport/ Jacksonville The warm weather this week definitely helped with the temperature of the water but, continued cool nights have only allowed it to warm slightly. The huge moon phase we just went through has hampered the bite somewhat. Decent numbers of fish are around but, it’s required work and lots of patience. Fiddlers, shrimp and cut crab have been effective but bite is still slow. Try using float rigs on high water around the rocks for trout, reds, and even some small tarpon with the peanut pogies that are available or a live shrimp. The Spanish have been hit and miss but that should improve. The nearshore offshore bottom bite has been very good for snapper, seabass and bluefish but it’s strictly catch and release.

Captain Buzz Brannon Fishing report 4/21/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon www.northeastangling.com 9045707878 Fishing this past week for redfish remains solid. We found redfish still in good numbers in both the intercoastal and small creeks during the dropping and incoming tide. Over sized, under sized and just the perfect size redfish were found all week long. Shrimp on jig head was the ticket.

Captain Tommy Derringer 4/21/2025 fishing report

Captain Tommy Derringer www.inshoreadventures.net 9043773734 Things are warming back up this week… The wind has switched back around out of the south and we’re getting a taste of the early parts of summer this week. The fishing last week and over the weekend was fantastic for me in the south end of Saint Augustine. We were chasing large schools of redfish up very shallow. I was fishing out of my Maverick skiff and that was a good thing because we got up super skinny to find some big redfish laid up. We were mostly tossing some of the new Gulp products at those skinny water redfish. The new nemesis prawn is an absolute fish slayer. As this week goes on the tide is going to be ideal to get out early and toss a top water plug. My favorites for this time of year are definitely the Berkeley J-Walker 120 and the 100. I prefer the 120 when the tide is up a little higher and if it’s a little shallow I’ll switch to the smaller 100 size. If you can find mudminnows that seems to be the live ...

Captain Brett Cannon Dave Gourley fishing report 4/21/2025

Atlantic Coast Marine 9042210793 www.atlanticcoastmarine.com It was a interesting fishing week here in the Jacksonville area. We fished inshore and just off the beach and found some solid fishing. With the fly rod we were able to land a few cobia. The cobia were short but were fun just the same. Brett pulled a nice Cobia in on spin gear but released the fish before we could get a photo. We actually picked up a few flounder with the fly rod as well. Redfish were hungry but at times were a bit fickle. shrimp fly patterns , live shrimp , mud minnows and some soft plastics have been working well for redfish.

Captain Buzz Brannon 4/15/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon 9045707878 www.northeastflorida.com Be it Flies, soft plastics and live shrimp the redfish and trout bite was solid this past week. Finding fish moving into the shallow flats on incoming tide was really productive. Depending on wind and tide water clarity ranged from clear to muddy but the fish are hungry. We found fish everyday we fished all up and down the intercoastal from Beach Blvd North to Sisters creek.

Captain Tommy Derringer 4/15/2025 fishing report

Captain Tommy Derringer 9043773734 www.inshoreadventures.net The inshore fishing has been fantastic this past week! Redfish and trout have been absolutely fired up… They are chasing top-waters early and readily eating soft plastics once the sun comes up. Things did cool down a little bit, but the fish didn’t seem to mind. Water has cleared up just a little bit especially in the south end of St. Augustine on the higher water. We may have a chance to do a little bit of sight fishing before the summer murky water kicks in. I’ve been having my clients toss the new Gulp shrimp and the redfish and trout have been eating those lures like crazy. Stop by Strike Zone, I know they have some of them in stock. The flounder bite has started to pick up as well. We’ve caught a couple nice size fish this past week and I’ve seen some reports of some bigger fish showing up near the inlets. A mud minnow or probably even better a good size finger mullet would be the bait of choice for those guys. I k...

Captain Brett Cannon/Dave Gourley Fishing report 4/14/2025

Atlantic Coast Marine 9042210793 www.atlanticcoastmarine.com For the fly anglers out there there were some good opportunities to find nice redfish in and around shallow water. We found some nice redfish the first part of incoming tide as well as the last half of the dropping tide. Dealing with some wind it was hard to find fish until we were on top of them so we slowed down and  were able to pull off some nice wins jumping and stripping shrimp patterns in front of some redfish. Some days the water was dirty and we did well on purple and black. Clean water days we did well on tan patterns.

Captain Kirk Waltz fishing report 4/8/2025

Captain Kirk Waltz www.enterprisefishingcharters.com 9046261128     The warm weather this week definitely helped with the water temperature. The sheepshead head bit well and stirred up the Spanish mackerel at the inlet. I saw a few bait pods this last week and that should signal the striking fish won’t be too far away. The trout bite should improve for the next few weeks with the moon phase reaching full phase.

Captain Tommy Derringer fishing reort 4/8/2025

Captain Tommy Derringer www.inshoreadventures.net 9043773734 Man, the fishing has been fantastic over the last week! The redfish have been chewing big time in the creeks in Saint Augustine from Villano Inlet north. We’ve had our best luck tossing mud minnows on a quarter ounce jig head. On a few days where I had better anglers, we threw some of the new Berkley Gulp baits in the same areas and caught just as many fish. It’s definitely been a better bite on the lower part of the tide so as this week goes on, it’s gonna be a little later in the day… be a good time to go to lunch from work and never come back! Ha ha… That being said the top water bite has been pretty good early on the higher water as well. Look for any grass line holding schools of mullet and you’re gonna find some trout and redfish. We’ve seen the best action using the smaller J-Walker 100 plug from Berkley.  The flounder are starting to show in better numbers in those same areas as well. I talked to numerous friends ...

Captain Buzz Brannon fishing report 4/7/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon 9045707878 www.northeastfloridaangling.com The shallow water backcountry Redfish bite continues to be as good as it gets! These fish are actively pursuing baits of all shapes and sizes, from live shrimp and mud minnows to Fish bites, Paddle tails and top water plugs they want it all! Also picked up a few nice flounder and trout this past week that bite should continue to get better as we move into full Spring mode. Give me a call to get in on some hot inshore backcountry action!

Captain Buzz Brannon fishing report 4/1/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon www.northeastfloridaangling.com 9045707878 This week coming off the new moon we are experiencing some of the lowest tides of the year! This means the fish are on the move. The skinny water Redfish bite today was super solid and should be continuing the rest of the week with good early morning low tides. Shrimp on 1/4 oz jigs heads around creek mouths with oyster bars have been almost automatic for Redfish of all sizes! So get off the couch and on the bow to gettum!

Captain Kirk Waltz fishing report 4/1/2025

Captain Kirk Waltz www.enterprisefishingcharters.com   9046261128 The beginning of this week surely shows the promise that Spring is here. Temperatures will hover in the 80’s for the next week and the fishing forecast will improve quickly. Look for the sheepshead to begin their final spawn and this will improve the chances that you’ll be able to catch a nice mess of fish. Use small shrimp, fiddlers and clams on a 1/8-1/4oz jig, Carolina rig, or float rigs to help bag a few. The trout bite should continue to be good this week on the docks, bridges and creek mouths. With this swing in temperatures the water will warm quickly and bait should be begin to show on the beaches, live bottom spots, and reefs offshore. Pogies, sardines and cigar minnows are excellent bait and can be used for a multitude of species. Make sure you are carrying a few Sabiki rigs ready to go with a nice cast net for quick access. Use these live baits to fish for reds, trout, and anything dwelling on the bottom o...

Captain Tommy Derringer 4/1/25 fishing report

Captain Tommy Derringer www.inshoreadventures.net 9043773734   Things are definitely starting to warm up this week… Trout bite has turned on for me over the weekend. We’ve caught quite a few trout (and redfish) on top-waters first thing in the morning. I also had one late afternoon trip where we caught a couple big trout using the Berkeley J-Walker 120. I’ve just been having my clients toss the top-waters around areas that are holding good numbers of mullet. Speaking of mullet there’s a bunch of them around for this time of year. Especially in the south end of St. Augustine. I’ve also had some reports of some bigger slot size snook being caught in Palm Coast area… Both on top-waters and on live bait at night around the bridges and the lights on the docks from Matanzas to just south of Palm Coast. Seems like a big live shrimp, mullet (or pinfish. If you can find them), have been the best bet for those bigger snook. If you’re quiet enough, you can just listen and hear them popping ar...
