The inshore fishing has been fantastic this past week! Redfish and trout have been absolutely fired up… They are chasing top-waters early and readily eating soft plastics once the sun comes up. Things did cool down a little bit, but the fish didn’t seem to mind. Water has cleared up just a little bit especially in the south end of St. Augustine on the higher water. We may have a chance to do a little bit of sight fishing before the summer murky water kicks in. I’ve been having my clients toss the new Gulp shrimp and the redfish and trout have been eating those lures like crazy. Stop by Strike Zone, I know they have some of them in stock. The flounder bite has started to pick up as well. We’ve caught a couple nice size fish this past week and I’ve seen some reports of some bigger fish showing up near the inlets. A mud minnow or probably even better a good size finger mullet would be the bait of choice for those guys. I know everybody has been chomping at the bit to get out and look for some cobia, but I haven’t had many reports. The ocean has laid down and a couple guys went last few days and caught a couple fish but nothing that would make me want to call in sick just yet. Most of the fish may have moved north but hopefully we get a little run before it warms up too much.

Captain Buzz Brannon Fishing Report 4/25/2025

Captain Buzz Brannon 9045707878 www.northestfloridafishingcharters.com Fishing has been really good this past week. We landed many redfish oversized, undersized and just the right size. Some of the best action and fun we had was on top water. Nothing like seeing a top water lure getting crushed by a 28 inch redfish in shallow water next to the grass. The last third of the out going tide as well as the first half of incoming tide all up and down the intercoastal was productive this past week. We also landed some flounder and trout most days we were on the water. Give us a call !

Captain Kirk Waltz 3/10/25 Fishing Report

Mayport/Jax Report The weather continues to throw some curve ball’s but despite the extreme challenges we are still catching good numbers of trout, reds, and black drum. Patience is the key. Smaller bait for the trout helps saving the larger shrimp for reds and drum. Try to slow retrieving speed and don’t expect big hits. The drum have been biting on chunks of fresh blue crab or large shrimp de headed with the tails popped off . Look for this weather forecast for the week to really jumpstart the fishing. Hit the rocks, docks, and drops in the Mayport Basin for success. 9046261128   www.enterprisefishingcharters.com

Captain Tommy Derringer 4/21/2025 fishing report

Captain Tommy Derringer www.inshoreadventures.net 9043773734 Things are warming back up this week… The wind has switched back around out of the south and we’re getting a taste of the early parts of summer this week. The fishing last week and over the weekend was fantastic for me in the south end of Saint Augustine. We were chasing large schools of redfish up very shallow. I was fishing out of my Maverick skiff and that was a good thing because we got up super skinny to find some big redfish laid up. We were mostly tossing some of the new Gulp products at those skinny water redfish. The new nemesis prawn is an absolute fish slayer. As this week goes on the tide is going to be ideal to get out early and toss a top water plug. My favorites for this time of year are definitely the Berkeley J-Walker 120 and the 100. I prefer the 120 when the tide is up a little higher and if it’s a little shallow I’ll switch to the smaller 100 size. If you can find mudminnows that seems to be the live ...
